Chip Schulte

  • Position: Club Director, Head Coach

Chip has coached teams at Beach Cities Volleyball for 18 seasons, including consistent top finishes in the SCVA and post-season national tournaments. His 12 Smack teams reached the Volleyball Festival Nationals in 2010, won the Volleyball Festival Nationals in 2014, won the Philadelphia Jr Olympic Qualifiers in 2015, the Silver medal in the New Orleans USA Volleyball Nationals in 2015, and won the Northern California Jr Olympic Qualifiers in 2017. Thirty-one former players from his 12 Smack teams went on to play in college. Former Head Coach at Westside Neighborhood School for 12 years, during which his teams got to the Pacific Division Champship finals 10 years, and won the championship 6 of those years.

Christian Cammayo

  • Position: Development Director, College Prep Director, Head Coach

Head Coach of Los Angeles Harbor College & West Torrance High School Boys Program. Defensive Specialist at UCSD, player and coach at Boston University, Varsity Coach Cantwell Sacred Heart, 2009 Whittier Daily News “Coach of the Year,” Sinjin Smith volleyball coach at Hax, 20+ years of beach volleyball experience. Ninth year coaching at Beach Cities Volleyball.

Phil Spazek

  • Position: Director of Starters Program, Director of Beach Program, Coach

Current Head Coach at New Roads School. Phil has coached for BCVC for 10+ years and has over 30 years of volleyball coaching experience under his belt. In addition, Phil heads our Palos Verdes Volleyball satellite, leading multiple Palos Verdes teams to successful seasons and helping beginner Starters participants develop the necessary skills to play volleyball in club, middle school, high school, and beyond.

Tony Mayrie

  • Position: Coach

Former Head Coach Serra High School Varsity Boys and Girls. Former Head Coach Dorsey High School the only year Dorsey got to the City Playoffs. Former Head Coach St. Anastasia three years, two of which St. A’s won the Southern Section Championship. His 2017 14 Smack team won the Southern California Jr Olympic Qualifiers. Founding member of Beach Cities Volleyball.

 

Sophia Ahumada

  • 4 years as Varsity Libero at Cal State Dominguez Hills, student athlete graduate with major in Kinesiology
  • Played 3 years Varsity Volleyball at Narbonne High School, Team Captain senior year
  • 2 years coach, Cal State University Dominguez Hills
  • 15 years Varsity Head Coach of Boys and Girls teams at Narbonne High School
  • 5 years coaching at Beach Cities Volleyball

Ryan Cronin

  • Position: Coach

University of Rhode Island. Coached Women’s Division I Programs at Holy Cross University and Boston College. AAA rated beach player for 7 years, AVP qualifier. Currently the Girls’ Volleyball Head Coach at North Torrance High School.

Brenda Gonzalez

  • Position: Coach

Four Year Varsity Letter, St Monicas High School, 3 yrs All-League. Four Year Varsity Letter, Hampton University, 3 years Hampton Varsity MVP. Previous Head Coach of Vistamar High School 2006-2011, JV coach at Serra High School, and current Head Coach of Boys and Girls at St Monica High School. Twelve years coaching at Beach Cities Volleyball, teams have taken 15th in 2004, 9th in 2005, 4th in 2006, finalists in 2007 and 2008, and 6th in 2009, 2nd in 2015 at the Volleyball Festival Nationals.
