Beach Cities Volleyball

Thanks again for being part of the Beach Cities Volleyball family during a wonderful 2026 season.

The final tournament of this season was the Boys US Volleyball Association (USAV’) National Championships. The USAV National Championships were played in Phoenix in mid-July, i.e., competition was just completed.  Beach Cities made the most of the National Championships with a terrific showing.

Our Boys 17 Black team, coached by Reza Tahmasebi & Jonathan Woods won the Open Division Championship, winning the finals over PSA Power 17’s, (of Texas) in thrilling fashion. In the Gold Medal match, we dropped the first set, but came back to win the 2nd set, so the Championship would be decided in the overtime game. We were down 5 to 9 but fought back with a fury to win 15-13 in an incredible finish to close out the Championship!

Kieran Dee won the 17 Open tournament MVP award, congratulations Kieran!

Showing this was a team effort, Beach Cities players Casey Wang, Kenneth McQuiston & Carter Lee all won All-Tournament Team honors. Congratulations to every player on this 17 Black team, you took on the best teams from the entire country and came out Champions!

The Beach Cities Volleyball was not through, demonstrating at the Nationals that BCVC is a major force in the nation, as our teams placed high among the best in the nation across the age groups:

·       Our 14 Black team, coached by Sadiq Kagzi, finished 5thin the country!

·       Our 15 Black team, coached by Nate Davis & Diego Vetus, finished 6th in the country!

·       Our 16 Black team, coached by Sadiq Kagzi & Jonathan Woods, finished 3rd in the country!

·       Our 16 Onyx, coached by Myles White & Carson Fries, won the 16s Silver Division!

·       Our 17 Black team won everything!

·       Our 18 Black team, coached by Max Garris & Bradley McAllister, won 3rd in the country!

Our Girl’s teams also had a terrific season this year. Having 20 (!) teams at the various levels of experience, our Beginning players trained hard, had fun & became Intermediate players, our Intermediate players trained hard, had fun & became Advanced players ready for high school and potentially college careers. We had many teams finish in the Gold Division, and 13(!) of our Girl’s teams went to year-end National tournaments! 

The High School Girl’s Tryouts begin this week:

➤  High School Pre-Tryout Clinics for High School girls, designed to get players ready for High School Club team tryouts. July 23rd & 24th, 5-7 PM

➤ Girls High School Tryouts start Saturday July 25th, Orientation/Sign Up Meeting Sunday July 26th

We also have additional exciting summer plans this year. Delineated below are the programs coming up between now & mid to late August. All are at the LA Galaxy courts, Girls & Boys invited to all these activities.

➤  Indoor Summer Camps, 5 days/week, 9 to 11 AM, 12-2&/or 3-5 PM started June 29 & will run until Aug 14. Unless noted below, all these programs are for Girls & Boys.

·       Beginner Camps for players starting or with limited volleyball experience.

·       Intermediate Camp for players with some experience, like one year Club, or Beach involvement. Players will build skills, intending to make & be a force on their 7th & 8th Grade school teams. Beginning jump serve training included.

➤  Middle School High Performance Programs: For experienced, hardworking players ready to take the next step toward strong high school careers. 5 days/week, starting July 13, will run until August 14, noon to two &/or 3 to 5 &/or 6 to 8 PM. Players should have strong club &/or beach experience. Emphasis on positional training, high level skill development & conditioning. This will be a tough skill producing program pushing the player’s volleyball work ethic.

➤ High School Boys & Girls High Performance Clinics, emphasizing advanced fast paced positional training, conditioning & team competition, for players getting ready for strong High School careers & well on the path to college careers. Monday – Thursday, 12-2, 3-5 & 6-8 PM. Program runs July 13th- Aug 14th

➤  Friday night Open Gym program, Boys and Girls invited. 7-10 PM, runs July 17 – 8/14

➤  Coming up: September Sundays, Boys Tryouts & 14 & Under Girls Tryouts, Make up Tryouts.

We always endeavor to provide programming that is fun, provides development of volleyball skills, and produces wonderful memories. Again, thank you for being part of our Beach Cities Volleyball family this season & we hope to see you this summer and next season!
