Coach Christian is currently the head coach of the women’s indoor and beach teams at Santa Monica College, and he led the 2025 Women’s Beach team to their CCCAA State Championship title. He has an extensive coaching career of 26 years in both high school and collegiate level, including 14 years as the former head coach of both the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams at West Torrance High School, and former head coach of the women’s volleyball team at Los Angeles Harbor College. His winning record includes over 100 CCCAA women’s indoor wins, conference championships, and his teams have included three State Player of the Week awards.
Coach Kevin Williams

Kevin led the Peninsula Boys team to the finals, where they took won CIF-SS D2 Runner-Up (2025).He is the Head Coach at Peninisula High School for both boys and girls programs. Kevin was named 2018 CIF D3 Coach of the Year. Led the Peninsula HS Boys Team to a CIF-SS D3 victory in 2018. Kevin was one of the main driving forces to start up Beach Cities Volleyball Club 25+ years coaching experience Coach Kevin brings experience and knowledge that is hard to beat in this area. He is a staple in the volleyball community of the South Bay for both boys and girls programs.
Coach Brenda Gonzalez

Coach Brenda is a passionate and experienced volleyball coach with a strong background as a player and mentor. A 4-yearvarsity starter and 3-time All-League setter at St. Monica High School, she went on to start all four years at Division I Hampton University. Her coaching career includes 11 years of high school coaching and 23 seasons at Beach Cities Volleyball Club, Brenda has helped lead multiple teams to top finishes, including three Volleyball Festival finals appearances.
Coach Sarah Borquez

With 10 years of experience Coach Sarah has an extensive coaching career as both a head coach and assistant coach of various of our Beach Cities boys Black and girls’ Smack teams. She is known for her attention to detail and technical coaching style. At a various times in her coaching career she has had teams/players exceed expectations. Her first year as a varsity coach and for the Varsity Girls at Rolling Hills Prep, they went to playoffs. Players she has coached for 1 year (high school and club) have then gone on to play Varsity the next season and excel. She is the current Frosh-Soph girls coach at Santa Fe High School where she helps build the winning program from the ground up (most girls come in without having played competitive volleyball before).
Coach Tiana Wightman
14 Platinum & 15 Diamond
Coach Tiana played volleyball at Pacific Lutheran High School as a varsity player all four years, and at Palos Verdes and Triumph volleyball clubs. She has been coaching for over 10 years, including five years as the head girls’ varsity coach at Pacific Lutheran High School. She’s currently coaching both Frosh girls and Frosh and JV boys at Peninsula High School.
Coach Martha Bailiff

Coach Martha has been at Beach Cities Volleyball Club since 2015. She played volleyball at Phineas Banning High School, where she then ran the girls’ volleyball program for 14 years, expanding it to all three levels, and was the head coach for the girls’ varsity team, and the former head coach of the boys’ varsity team. She founded the volleyball program at Los Angeles Adventist Academy in 2005 and coached both the girls’ and boys’ varsity teams. She is also a former assistant coach for the women’s volleyball team at Long Beach City College. Coach Martha is currently the head coach for the frosh boys’ team at West Torrance High School.
Coach Sophia Ahumada
13 Platinum & 14 Diamond
Coach Sophia began her volleyball career at Narbonne High School and played collegiate volleyball at Cal State Dominguez Hills as a libero. Her extensive coaching career includes 25 years as the head varsity coach for both the boys’ and girls’ teams at Narbonne High School, winning two CIF Championships, and a CIF Coach of the Year Award. She has been coaching both boys’ and girls’ teams with Beach Cities for over 15 years.
Coach Veronica Sanchez

Coach Veronica is the Director of the USYVL – United States Youth Volleyball League in the South Bay. She loves kids and is passionate about teaching every player the fundamentals of playing volleyball in a competitive and fun way.
Coach Noely Sanchez
New Wave Team
Coach Noely is 21 years old and played at Beach cities from 2019 to 2022. She has been a vital part of coaching Future Stars throughout those years and currently. She graduated from Banning High School where she played for the volleyball program all 4 years. Noely went onto continue her volleyball career by playing two years at LA Harbor College.
