Good morning! As we head toward Christmas, and the holy days for many religions throughout the world, I trust that everyone has already started thinking about their 2026 New Year’s resolutions with confidence and enthusiasm!
SoCal Cup Winter Formal Congratulations to the eleven Beach Cities Volleyball teams who competed in this always tough annual tournament, played this year at the LA Convention Center. All the best teams at the strongest clubs participated in the annual tournament, and our teams all gave us a great performance & accounted for themselves well. A special shoutout to our 16 Black team, coached by Sadiq Kagzi, who took second place overall in the 16s Division! Congratulations also to Chandler Stager’s 13 Smack team, who took 3rd Place overall, Nate Davis’s 15 Black taking 9th place, and Reza Tahasebi’s 17 Black who finished 5th overall.
‘Great Job’ is in order to the six High School BCVC Girls teams who demonstrated considerable volleyball skills this weekend. Special props to Sarah Borquez’s 17 Smack team, who went 5-1, winning their last five matches in a row!
Intraclub Tournaments at LA Galaxy started for 14 Beach Cities Volleyball teams on Sunday. The competition was tremendous, and the matches were very close! The drama of competition was clearly in the air! Congratulations to everyone who played! Phil Spazek’s Future Star All Stars won the Auckland Division, Martha Baillif’s 12 Platinum the Christchurch Division, Sophia Ahumada’s (coached by Yasmine Itani) 14 Platinum the Perth Division, and Duda Souza the Sydney Division. Great job everyone!
Beach Volleyball Training: I hope everyone has taken the opportunity to participate in our Saturday Beach Clinics. The program is now down for the holiday season but will start up again on January 10th.
Holiday Clinics are coming up! Now a 24-year tradition at Beach Cities Volleyball, our holiday clinics are very popular for families staying in for one or both weeks of the holidays. The cost for each clinic is $65/day, or $155 for all three days. You can sign up at ‘Beachcitiesvbc.com’ (give yourselves some Christmas shopping time while your players are at the clinics).
The Christmas Clinic is held 9 AM to noon, Monday through Wednesday, December 22-24 at LA Galaxy
The New Year’s Clinic is held 9 AM to noon, Monday through Wednesday, December 29-31 at LA Galaxy

Good morning, I trust this message finds you healthy & happy! It seems amazing that Halloween 2025 has given way to Thanksgiving, and now I see Christmas decorations all over the South Bay & Westside.
16 Black Sweeps in Northern California! Congratulations to our awesome Boys 16 Black team!! Last weekend Coach Scintillating Sadiq Kagzi & his 16 Black traveled to the Capital Sports Center in Sacramento for the Northern California Volleyball Association Jr Olympic Qualifiers, the winner qualifying for the USAV Jr Olympic Jr National Championships. The Beach Cities Boys 16s beat everyone, going 6-0 for the tournament championship, winning the NCVA bid for the Jr National Championships July 8-11 in Phoenix! GREAT JOB 16 BLACK!
Meanwhile Christian Cammayo took his Santa Monica College team to play in Folsom, California, for the California City College Championships. Christian & his Lady Corsairs took 3rd place among all the JC’s in the entire state! 3rd in the entire state! Big props for a job well done!
Beach Volleyball Training: The second week of Beach Cities Volleyball Beach Training saw 70 players playing Saturday morning. This program, of free beach volleyball training from experienced sand volleyball coaches, has been added as it can increase your player’s skills tremendously, fast forwarding footwork, anticipatory and court knowledge skills.
All registered Beach Cities Volleyball players whose team is not playing in a regular season tournament on Sunday are invited via an invitation (with a Google form attached) emailed to the families on Monday. Please RSVP via the Google Form by Wednesday night. The maximum # of players we can take is 75 players, so please respond quickly. You will receive a confirmation email on Friday Play starts at 11:30, please try to arrive 15 minutes early. History has shown me that player’s gym skills, as mentioned above are fast forwarded tremendously by receiving beach training.
After this Saturday, the Beach Training will not be held for the Holidays and will start up January 10th.

Division 2: Future Stars All Stars, 13 Diamond, 14 Diamond, 14 Carbon (starts at 1 to 4 PM)
Division 3: 12 Smack, 13 Platinum, 13 Diamond, 14 Onyx (4 to 6:30 PM)
Division 4: 13 Smack, 14 Smack, 16 Platinum (4 to 6:30 PM)
This weekend twelve of our Boys teams will be competing in the three-day SoCal Cup Winter Formal at the LA Convention, and our Girl’s 15s & 17s teams are competing in their 2-day SCSN entry event, time & location TBA.
